The Abington Club Management Team has over 40+ years of experience in providing an outstanding club experience.  We are excited to help you get the most out of your membership, book private events, enjoy summers by the outdoor pool, and provide a safe and fun enviroment at our Summer Kids Camp.  We look forward to seeing you around the club!
 
Pat Travers

Director of the Abington Club Kids Camp

Pat is returning for his sixth summer at the Abington Club Kids Camp.  This year he will be taking on the
role of Director of Youth Programs.  He has been a teacher and coach in the William Penn School District
since 2011, prior to that he worked in the corporate world.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in
History from Loyola University of Maryland in 2007 and obtained his Masters of Education from Cabrini
University in 2015.  Pat has a passion for physical activities and all things outdoors.  He values his own
active and diverse childhood and loves to share that passion with young people.  His 5 year old daughter
Nora is excited to join him for her third year of camp this year in the Yellow Monkeys group.  His 2 year
old son Jack cant wait to come to camp with his big sister next summer.

Colleen Desrochers

Assistant Director & Camp Nurse

Colleen is returning for her second summer at camp.  She spent 15 years as an emergency room nurse
before transitioning to working in a local elementary school this past year.  Colleen has a nine year old
daughter Haley who will be attending camp as one of our Red Falcons, and a 14 year old dog Maggie
that is everyone’s favorite.  In her spare time she is an avid runner, skier, reader and is pursuing her
Master’s degree.  Colleen’s primary role will be ensuring the health of all campers and staff during our
season, including keeping us up to date and compliant with all recommendations regarding the latest
and most effective COVID-19 safety protocols.

Steve Leventhal 

Operations Manager

Steve has been an integral part of the camp for the past seven summers and is best known as the cheerful voice greeting campers each morning in car line.  He graduated from Temple University in 2019 with a degree in Sports Management.  He is currently employed with Upper Moreland School District as a teacher and coach.  Steve began as a junior counselor and is now one of the most integral staff members that makes our camp fun, safe and successful.  Steve is also the latest of our camp family to take the plunge!  He recently proposed to his longtime girlfriend Karli.  The wedding date is still to be determined, but it is safe to assume that all camp families will be invited to the ceremony and reception.

Casey Decker 

Assistant Operations Manager

Casey is returning for his fifth summer at the Abington Club and is ready to take on his new role as Assistant Operations Manager.  Casey is finishing up his education at Delaware Valley University this summer where he studies Sports Management and Secondary Education, and plays quarterback for the football team.  After graduation Casey plans to pursue a career in the education where he can his passion of coaching football.

Andi Maddalo

Art Director

Andi has been working with The Abington Club for 10 years and is looking forward to joining The Summer Day Camp Program as the Art Director. With an associates in fine arts and a bachelors in Industrial design, her work with the kids will revolve around both old and new practices of art, design and self expression through the two.

Interested in joining the Abington Club Day Camp team? We are always looking for bright, outgoing and enthusiastic individuals who have a passion for working with children. We are dedicated to helping our staff enhance their skills and gain valuable experience that will be useful in future endeavors and careers. We provide opportunities to develop leadership techniques, creativity, teamwork and problem solving skills. As a staff member, you will be able to work with children both individually and in a group setting, while strengthening your interpersonal skills. If you are ready to work and play hard, meet new friends, spend your summer outdoors and have your nights and weekends off – submit your application to no later than March 31, 2021.
