Meet our team:
|Director of Youth Programs, Erin Vizza - Erin has worked for a number of years at Love and Care Child Care Center, developing the curriculum and teaching pre-school aged children. She also worked at SunGard Higher Education (Ellucian) for over a decade that provides software and services to help institutions find better ways to teach, learn, manage and connect with their students. She graduated from La Salle University with a degree in Marketing and Communications. Erin is married with three young daughters and lives in Churchville, PA. Erin is passionate about making the Abington Club Kids Camp a safe, fun and exhilarating experience for all campers!|
|Director of Camp Operations, Patrick Travers - Patrick has been a teacher in the William Penn School District since 2011 working with middle and high school students, while also coaching baseball and wrestling. Prior to that he worked in the corporate world before he decided to go back to fulfill his life's calling. He graduated from Loyola University of Maryland in 2007 with a degree in History, and attained his Master of Education from Cabrini College in 2015. Patrick has been married for two years and has a daughter, Nora, who will be attending camp this year for the first time! Patrick is excited to rejoin the team at the Abington Club Kids Camp. He brings with him a passion for an active lifestyle, energy, creativity and enthusiasm.|
|After Care Program Director, Jessica Norbert - Jessica was the director at JUMP preschool and a teacher there for 35 years. As an avid fan of knitting and crochet, she has taught teenagers and adults at Montgomery Community College and A.C. Moore. Jessica's lengthy camp experience began at the Abington Club in the 1990s, then Talamore Golf Club, Montgomery Community College and now back where it all started for the last several years - The Abington Club Kids Camp. Jessica reads stories to the children at camp and is also the aftercare program instructor. Jess is married with four adult children and three grandchildren and lives in Jenkinton.|
|After Care Program Instructor, Elexis Kenny – Lexi is entering her senior year at Widener University, where she studies Political Science and International Relations. As extra circulars Lexi plays club Rugby and is the President of the Political Awareness club. She has eight years of experience in child care ranging from babysitting to working at camps. Last season was her first year on staff at the Abington Club but she was actually a camper in the Green group.|
|Art Director, Alyssa Abel- Alyssa is currently a middle/high school art teacher at the Concept SChool in Westtown, PA. She graduated from Kutztown University in 2017 with a degree in Art Education. While attending Kutztown University, she has had the opportunity to teach art lessons in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms and is very excited to return for her season at the Abington Club Kids Camp. Alyssa also displays her art at local farmer’s markets and craft fairs and has her very own Etsy shop to market her handmade jewelry. She hopes to once again create a fun environment in which campers can get in touch with their creative side and express themselves through art!|
|Assistant, Stephen Leventhal - Steve is a senior at Temple University, studying sports and recreation management. This past year, he was the head coach of a twelve-year-old basketball team and also coached American Legion baseball for the past several years. He finds coaching and working with children to be very rewarding and enjoys assisting the children and staff at the Abington Club Kids Camp. He has worked at a number of summer camps for the last six years. Stephen has worked as an assistant, head counselor and junior counselor here at the Abington Club Kids Camp and is excited to return as an assistant.|
|Assistant, Sheamus Alcorn: - Sheamus is a junior at Pennsylvania State University in pursuit of a degree in Kinesiology in the hopes of becoming a Physical Therapist. He graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 2016 and was involved with the soccer and honors education programs during his four years. This will be his third summer working at the Abington Club. He has also worked multiple youth golf camps at Flourtown Country Club. He is looking forward to returning this summer as an assistant to help with many different aspects of camp and work with all campers.|
|Counselors: - Staff members at Abington Club Kids Camp love camp as much as our campers and return here summer after summer. Our senior staff is mature, responsible and nurturing people. Our junior counselors are full of energy and always ready to lend a hand. Our selected staff is comprised of former campers, college students, high school students, specialists and lifeguards who love camp and working with children. Each group is supervised by a mature, energetic, responsible and nurturing Head Counselor who is certified in CPR and First Aide. Our staff is cleared through a national criminal and child abuse clearance."|

Interested in joining the Abington Club Kids Camp team? We are always looking for bright, outgoing and enthusiastic individuals who have a passion for working with children. We are dedicated to helping our staff enhance their skills and gain valuable experience that will be useful in future endeavors and careers. We provide opportunities to develop leadership techniques, creativity, teamwork and problem solving skills. As a staff member, you will be able to work with children both individually and in a group setting, while strengthening your interpersonal skills.
