One of the great perks of being an Abington Club summer employee is access to the pools and gym! Submit your info here so we can get you registered in our system.

Camp Counselor Required Clearances

Please be sure all of your clearances and certifications listed below are available and up to date.

Submitting Clearances:

Please do not email me your clearances and certifications. You will be uploading these documents directly to your ADP profile. The link to your profile will be available shortly. In the meantime, start the application process, it can take some time. If you do not have your clearances, you will not be able to start work.

  • Child Abuse Clearance | JR & SR Counselors

    The Pennsylvania Child Abuse History clearance can be submitted and paid for online through the Child Welfare Information Solution (CWIS) self-service portal. This clearance is good for up to 5 years. Click the button below to start the clearance process.

    Access Clearance

  • PA Background Check | JR & SR Counselors

    The Pennsylvania State Police have established a web-based computer application called "Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History (PATCH)". Results are often received immediately when applied for online. This clearance is good for 5 years.

  • FBI Background Check | SR Counselors

    Fingerprinting Process, You can register for an appointment to be fingerprinted online or by Telephone. The FBI Background Check Clearance is good for 5 years. (FBI Service Code 1KG738)

    MINORS WHO HAVE LIVED IN PA FOR 10 YEARS CAN COMPLETE THE AFFIDAVIT (PARENT CAN BE THE WITNESS):

    Minors (ages 14-17) are exempt from the FBI fingerprint check if they have been a resident of Pennsylvania for the previous 10 years; however they must complete an Affidavit of Compliance Disclosure Statement, in addition to the PA Child Abuse and PA State checks.

    DESCRIPTION
    The American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Learning course is designed to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies for adults, children, and infants. This course teaches participants the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person when minutes matter, and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed.

     

    LENGTH
    • Online: approximately 2-3 hours (varies)
    • In Person: 2 hours, 15 minutes

     

    INTENDED AUDIENCE
    Lay responders in the workplace and community including (but not limited to) educators, childcare providers, special needs/elderly/companion care providers, coaches/referees, personal trainers, residence assistants and staff members, office staff, tour/adventure/outdoor guides, park rangers, construction workers, electricians, flight attendants, social workers, security personnel, animal control officers/veterinarian technicians.

     

    PREREQUISITES
    None.

     

    REQUIREMENTS
    Participants Must:
    • Successfully complete the online session, including each lesson and assessments.
    • Attend the in-person skills session and actively participate in all course activities, including assuming various roles during skill practices and assessment scenarios.
    • Demonstrate competency in all required skills.
    • Successfully complete all assessment scenarios.

     

    CERTIFICATION
    Upon successful completion, participants will be issued a digital certificate by email from the American Red Cross that is valid for 2 years.
